Tuna salad with pasta

I'm back from my short vacation and I'm looking forward for my first triathlon. This weekend I am going to participate in the Triathlon Challenge Mamaia so this week is carbo-loading week this means a lot of noodles. My goal is to finish in the top 10 or finish in about a half hour.

Yesterday I made tuna salad with noodles a salad that I wanted to try a long time ago. I had these ingredients:
  • one onion
  • one tomato
  • one red pepper
  • some cheese
  • a can of tuna
  • a can of corn (it was a bit too much)
  • olives
It is very easy to make this salad, just cook the pasta, chop the veggies and mix everything. Season with some  lemon juice and olive oil, you can use some chilly also.

Bucin

Last Saturday I went for a training ride with a few friends. We went out to climb the Bucin. Bucin was the first mountain that I've climbed when I started riding longer distances. I remember that the first time I've climbed it I had to stop a few times.

This weekend was different, I had just a few sandwiches and a banana and I was with my road bike. And I was with a few friend so we took turns in the front so we could go faster. We got to the beginning of the climb very fast with an average speed of about 31 km/h. There we stopped for a short rest.
The climb was harder than I thought, maybe because I had a hard training ride a day before. At the end of the climb I started to recover and I was enjoying the sharp corners. When we got to the top we stopped for another short rest and I checked the time:
Stats:
    - time: 3:16:58
    - distance: 84,42 km
    - average speed: 26,0 km/h
    - max speed: 56,0km/h

The ride home was very painful especially the last climb to Acatari. You can see the map of the ride here.

Stats:
    - time: 6:05:48
    - distance: 171,04 km
    - average speed: 28,0 km/h
    - max speed: 56,9km/h

I'm going to the sea!

It's official, on the 3rd of September I'm going to the sea (to Mamaia) to ride about a half hour.
At first when I read that a few blogger can participate for free at this triathlon I didn't pay much attention to it but thanks to  Mihai I applied. And I won, so I will be part of the #1 Blogger team with Ionut Bizau (swimming) and Mihai Teodorescu (running). If  Ionut confirms the name of the team  will Splash, Flash & Dash Team :)

I didn't see the sea for a long time so I'm very happy that I will have the chance to participate in my first triathlon at the sea (Black Sea). My race will be short, I will have to ride about a half hour as fast as I can (20 kilometers) but I'm sure I will make a lot of new friends especially that I don't even know my team mates.

For now a lot of thanks to Triathlon Challenge and to chinezu who selected the teams and we will meet at the sea!

Maros Bike Marathon 2011

Last September I was lazy and I had a lot going on. My life was in fast forward so I didn't write about a few races. I didn't write about the Maros Bike Marathon 2010. I think this marathon had the most amazing course, it was just beautiful. The high mountain landscape is one of my favorites.

It was a nice race, I was feeling good but I wasn't lucky, I had to change 3 tubes. I destroyed a set of Race  Kings. Although I lost a lot of time changing tubes I have finished in 25th place in 4 hours an 20 minutes. Here are some pictures from the race:

Pea cream soup

I've been cooking again. I had a can of peas and I thought I should make some soup:
As I said before cream soups are very easy to make, all you need is a blender and some veggies. I've made the veggie soup the same way as before, I used some soup powder (Fuchs Mirodenia). Then I added the peas and some garlic and put it all in the blender. I've served it with sour cream and toast.
